Jail Inmate Visitor & Mail Policy

Visiting Rules 

Visiting Days and Hours are assigned to an inmate once they request it.
You have to be on the inmate’s visitor list (only three visitors can be on list).
Also, visitors have to be 18 years of age or older and have photo ID.

Phone Calls:

NO inmate can RECEIVE phone calls or have messages given to them.
Inmates can call collect.

Friends and Family can set up a phone account at:

this can be used for calling cards, chirping and commissary

Mail:

Inmates can receive unlimited incoming mail-ALL mail is opened by jail staff for security reasons.
Mail without return address will not be opened or delivered to inmate.

The purpose of this Policy is to establish procedures and guidelines in regard to the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003.

  • The Louisa County Jail has a zero tolerance for sexual abuse or sexual harassment whether inmate on inmate, or staff on inmate.
  • All reported activities shall be handled in a professional manner and treated as criminal activity.
  • Inmates may report an incident of sexual misconduct either verbally or in written form to:
